Local Training Flights

Departures intending to undertake instrument approach training at Lydd shall be instructed to squawk 7067, as per the Local SSR Code Procedures. ADC shall prenote APC when a training aircraft calls for taxi.

APC shall transfer instrument approach training aircraft that intend to carry out a missed approach to ADC on passing the FAF.

Departure Releases

A release from APC is required for all IFR departures, and VFR departures within 5 minutes of an IFR departure/arrival. In the release, the departure route may be modified.

If there is IFR traffic inbound to Lydd within 10 NM from touchdown, APC may issue "released subject [callsign of inbound aircraft]". ADC may then depart the aircraft at an appropriate moment, giving traffic information as required.

Lydd ADC should exercise caution when departing aircraft when inbounds are within 10 NM, especially during periods of IMC, as aircraft may not be able to see each other - especially in the event of a go-around. Whilst the pilots are responsible for separation, ADC must not issue instructions likely to cause conflict.

IFR Arrivals

APC will pass to ADC the callsign, type, and the approach time estimate for all inbound aircraft. Additionally, when an aircraft is established on the final approach course or ILS, APC will notify ADC.

VFR Arrivals

APC will pass to ADC the callsign and type of aircraft that intend to land at Lydd, as well as their routing.
