PI-26-023 - London Stansted - Addition of GASBA and JUGSE SIDs, removal of DET SIDs

Instruction ID PI-26-023
Effective Date 01/10/2026 (AIRAC 2610)
Status 🟢 Active
Applicable To EGSS, TC North, East, & South-East
Incorporated into Docs No

Warning

This PI has been amended shortly after publication to reflect that the new GASBA SIDs should only be issued over the CLN SIDs for traffic routing via KONAN. No other errors have been identified.

Summary

Stansted is gaining six new SIDs, formed by truncating the current DET and CLN SIDs:

Runway 22:

  • GASBA 1R
  • GASBA 1E (RNP1)
  • JUGSE 1R

Runway 04:

  • GASBA 1S
  • JUGSE 1S
  • JUGSE 1D (RNP1)

Note

RNP1 SIDs are preferred for aircraft which can accept them. All RNP1 SIDs at Stansted contain RF legs, which may not be supported by some aircraft.

Additionally, the DET SIDs are being removed.

Charts can be found on 🔗 ChartFox.

Procedure Overview

GASBA

GASBA SIDs are truncated from the CLN SIDs, terminating at a point 12.4 DME west of CLN at 6000 ft. From GASBA, aircraft can route to CLN via M189.

Aircraft routing via KONAN shall use these SIDs 0600-2300 UK local time; the SIDs are not for use by any other aircraft. Aircraft routing via KONAN outside these hours should route via JUGSE; aircraft not routing via KONAN should use the CLN SIDs.

JUGSE

JUGSE SIDs are truncated from the retired DET SIDs, terminating at a new point 25 DME north-northwest of DET. From JUGSE, aircraft can route to DET via L6.

All aircraft that would formerly route via the retired DET SIDs should now use these SIDs.

ATC Procedures

If an aircraft files a departure via DET, they shall be asked if they can accept the relevant JUGSE SID - as determined by the route indicator, the final letter of the SID designator - and rerouted via JUGSE L6 DET. If they cannot accept, then they shall be issued the relevant archived DET SID - DET 2D (RNP1) or DET 2S for Runway 04, or DET 2R for Runway 22.

Info

Archived SIDs are shown with a # prefix, as in #DET2S.

If an aircraft files a departure via CLN, where their routing requires they use a GASBA SID (see above), they shall be asked if they can accept the relevant GASBA SID and rerouted via GASBA M189 CLN. If they cannot accept, then they may be issued their filed CLN SID and route.

If an aircraft files a departure via GASBA, where their routing requires they use a CLN SID, they shall be issued the relevant CLN SID and rerouted by removing the initial segment between GASBA and CLN from their planned route.

Documentation Status

The Stansted (EGSS) and London FIR (EGTT) vMATS Part 2 will be updated at the next opportunity.
